Is it OK to use a MacBook Pro charger on this device?

Once again, this question just to be sure.

Is it OK to use a Macbook Pro 45 W charger on a Macbook Air.

I see the voltage diff, yes.

16.5 V for MBP, 14.5 for MBA.

My experience tells me the internal DC/DC converters should be able to handle the extra 2 V without any trouble.

But just to be sure, are they capable doing so?

As long as the MagSafe plugs match, it should work on your MacBook Air. It won't use all available 85W since it doesn't need it, but it will work.

The computer will register it as an 85W adapter and only pull what it needs. It probably won't pull anything past 45W (which is what your computer is designed for), but it won't hurt it either. You will just leave 40W of that adapter unused with no ill effects. Don't use it long term though - get the correct adapter as soon as you can.
