I changed numbers on the subaddress on my Sanyo now my screen is black

I was trying to reset my Sanyo tvv without the remote, and changed some numbers on the subaddress now my screen is black

Answer this question I have this problem too

@maria627 have you unplugged the TV for a while and then plug it back in and restart? Do you have any menu and power LED coming on etc?

tv model number dp42841it's been unplugged for weeks...I don't know what happened after I changed some numbers in the sub address.

@maria627 changing the sub-address should not cause the screen to be black. does you TV show any sign of life?

try to get into the Service Menu first . Use the instructions

Sanyo TV Service Menu Method 1

Unplug the power cable.

Press and hold the {MUTE} button on the remote control while plugging the power cable back into the outlet.

Keep pressing the {MUTE} button until the TV powers on with the Service Menu displayed.

Use the {CH+} {CH-} buttons to select menus.

Use the {VOL+} {VOL -} buttons to change settings.

Some menus might have sub-addresses. Use the numeric buttons {0} to {7} to adjust sub-item data.

Press the {MENU} button or turn the TV off to exit.

Sanyo TV Service Menu Method 2

Unplug the power cable.

Press and hold the {VOL -} button on the TV while plugging the power cable back into the outlet.

Keep pressing the {VOL -} button until the TV powers on with the Service Menu displayed.

Use the {CH+} {CH-} buttons to select menus.

Use the {VOL+} {VOL -} buttons to change settings.

Some menus might have sub-addresses. Use the numeric buttons {0} to {7} to adjust sub-item data.

Press the {MENU} button or turn the TV off to exit. from here

Always amazing how you find the info. ;-)

They might have a bit of trouble though. Given the question, I don't think that the OP has access to a remote and even Method 2 "might" require the remote

At the time I tried to reset manually, but I found the remote, and because I made changes to the sub address, I trying to get the picture back...I never had problems with this television, up until now.
