How do I replace the map light?

One map light is no longer working and it needs to be replaced. I cannot find a way to disconnect and then replace. I have a 2007 Forester SUBN

I can't believe how simple this was. If I had looked in the "maintenance" section of the handbook I would have found it. I looked in the internal lights/ map lights section that basically describes how everything works not how it is repaired. Thank you ! I honestly didn't think I would get an answer. This site is great.

Hi,

Here is an image, taken from the 2007 Subaru Forester Owner Manual that shows how to remove the map light lens so that the bulb can be replaced. Scroll to p.11-48

1. Remove the lens by prying the edge of the lens with a flat-head screwdriver.

2. Pull the bulb out of the socket. Install a new bulb.

3. Reinstall the lens.

The map light bulb is 12V-8W
