Fuzzy bottom half of screen

I have an LG 55UF6450-UA. The bottom half of the screen appears fuzzy but when viewed closely, I notice that every other scan line seems to be grayed out. The top hallf of the screen is ok. Also, sometimes the bottom half of the screen will flicker. I tested this with the menu screen displayed and no external input connected. I was wondering if this might be the t-con board?

This shows the dual scan lines with some grayed out. Notice the top half of the screen is ok.

@tilson looks like it could be a bad panel. You can of course try a new main board first, but horizontal lines etc. are usually caused by failed Gate Drivers on your panel. Take a look at the side of the panel and see if there is a circuit board that has small ribbon cables going into the inside of the panel. Check on that circuit board and try to exert some pressure on those ribbon cables. See if that changes anything. Again , a picture is worth a thousand words ;-)

I tried a new t-com board but got the same results. I am considering a new main board because the bottom portion of the screen seems to flicker back and forth between normal and lines with a ghost image and it seems to me this might point to the main board. I did try pressing on the ribbon cable at the places where it entered the panel but there was change. If I can get a main board, I'll let you know what happens. Thanks

@tilson that sounds like a plan. Let us know how it works out.

hi did you solve it? I have an LG TV with the same issue

The T-com board didn't work. I'm still waiting on a main board to try that. (They're hard to find.) If anyone knows where I can get one (that can be returned if it doesn't work) at a reasonable price, please post the info here. I need a EBT64048903.

Check the power supply while your waiting. The power supply was my problem with the lines on the screen.
