Swap chips on optical drive

Hi

I have an Xbox one where one of my kids posted a coin through the drive so I only used it for downloaded games as I couldn't get a disc in the drive again.

I hadn't used this one for a while but when I turned it on and updated it, the update kept failing with the E101 error. The warranty has expired a long time ago so I decided to check the logs by pulling the HDD out. The logs say that it can't communicate with the Blu-ray drive.

I bought a replacement drive, swapped over the logic board and same issue. It seems as though the logic board is dead as it won't even load a disc into the drive. Putting the original logic board that came with the drive at least lets me load discs but as it's not the correct logic board, it fails the update again.

Has anyone attempted swapping the Microsoft chip on the logic board before? Is that the only chip I'll need to swap or would I need the Texas Instruments chip too?

Any advice would be appreciated!
