After a hard reset when I turn on the phone it stays stuck in the first screen where it asks me to decide which Software I want the phone to use the jitterbug easy easy stuff or the more advanced android software

It is asking if you are an advanced user, or if you want a simple phone.
The "jitterbug" is for users that just want a simple to use interface, while the other option provides the traditional Android Software.
From your question here, you may want to select the "Jitterbug" option.

Does not matter which 1 I select it just keeps saying please wait.

Me too...same exact problem. No matter what I choose it just says Please Wait...
