Adding a devise to my Bose wave radio/cd player

I want to hook up a record player to my radio /cd player ? do I need a preamp?

Hi @dfen ,

Yes.

A pre amp is required because the Bose Wave Radio AWR1-1W doesn't have a phono input (basically an inbuilt pre amp). It only has an auxiliary input. The turntable's phono signal output is not great enough for it to work on an aux input, even with the volume on the radio set to maximum

Just search online for an inline phono pre amp and select the one you want. Check that the pre amp comes with its' own power supply. Also if the pre amp has an external earth connection, be sure to hook up the turntable earth to the pre amp earth terminal.
