How to create bootable USB mac os installer for old mac with os lion?

Hi,

May I know how do I create a bootable USB mac os installer in Mac OS sierra macbook ? I trying running command "sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app" but showing command not found even though I using admin access. I did try disk creator and transmac trial version but none of them working fine on these old macbook with os x lion.

I do face the problem where the old macbook trying to reinstall mac os lion back by default do show the item is not available. That the reason I am trying to install back by bootable usb mac os installer. Thank you.

You need to have downloaded Sierra installer.

In your Applications folder there should be an "Install OS X Sierra" Application.

If not you need to download it from the Apple App store, but it is not available any more.

If you got it earlier, it may or may not be listed under "purchases".

Your guide does not answer to my question and is more towards to basic downloading the Sierra from mac store and run the programs and install. Basic downloading and install are very basic which also can be found in the google search. Anyway thank you for your guide.

I do done download and put in the correct folder. I tested the command in the terminal but it shows command not found. My question here how do I make a bootable USB installer from the Sierra installer or even the old OS like El Capitan or OS Lion.

open a terminal and post the output of the following commands:

ls -l /Applications

ls -l /Volume

Capitalizations must be exact.
