Touch ID is paired to the logic board. If you replace the logic board or the home button, you lose TouchID.

In the product description: "Note: the Touch ID function will only work with your phone's original home button assembly. Installing a new home button will only restore ordinary home button functionality—not Touch ID features."

I don’t understand

Sounds like the shop ripped the home button cable on the old screen when doing the screen replacement and replaced the button without telling you that they screwed up.

Anyway you can't get the touch ID working again, if the home button cable is really ripped.

The only thing you can try is getting the large metal plate that has the long home button extension cable attached behind the screen replaced.
