Panasonic Viera TC-P50V10 Vertical Bar

Hi,

Recently I was watching tv on my TC-P50V10 when a black vertical bar appeared. It looks like this image here. I saw some guides online talking about cleaning the ribbon cable. I have tried that, but it does not work. I know next to nothing about television components. Any idea if this is fixable or not? Or where I should start to even potentially start testing? Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

@zed44 most likely caused by a failed IC on the right X board. You will have to remove the back of your set and check for obvious damage. Makes sure that all your wiring is properly connected and make sure that the fans etc. are clear of dust and working properly. Post some images of your board layout as well as your individual boards with your question. That way we can see what you see. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question to do so.

Update (01/19/2018)

Check the IC's on the heatsinks in the last image. Those are hard to see but it looks like some of the thermal paste is different. here should be three smaller boards on the bottom, see if you can add some images of those. There should be ribbon cables going from those to the panel. Gently push the thin ribbon cables that enter your panel. It is possible that those are having trouble with their connection as well.

I thought this might be helpful to you as well. Your TV's situation is comparable to case 2.
