Why is my laptop not displaying anything, though it powers on?

I have a Lenovo T440 i7-4600U which powers on but doesn't display anything. I get a sequence of beeps (5 short beeps, a pause, and 5 short beeps again) and it goes quiet, though the system is still on. I've done the hard reboot (Take out the battery and charger, then hold the power button down for 20+ secs and turn on again) and checked for any faint lights. Also checked the ram. I think theres something up with the motherboard, but I don't know what or how to fix it. Anything would be very appreciated !

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@fssaya five short beeps and a blank screen is the post code for a failed motherboard. Do this Take out the battery and charger, then hold the power button down for 20+ secs and turn on again once more but remove your RAM as well. Then apply one module only and use different slots than they were in.

Thank you for your answer! I just tried that, unfortunately it doesn't work. Is there a way to fix the motherboard problem?

Technically yes, motherboard can be fixed but requires patience and experience. But spending time and the money on the tools, is it worth it? You need to ask yourself this question.

Check on CL and you might find someone selling an offlease laptop, same model. If in NYC I can guide.
