Why does the old screen look as bad as the new?

Preface: I hate iPhone's

Got an iPhone 7 replacement screen full assembly from a company I have had good luck with. Opened the package and I could tell instantly the screen was not new. I hooked it up and as expected it has a crack in the upper corner and lines through it. Sending it back and ordering another one hoping for the best.

Meanwhile, i re-connected the original cracked screen and it has lines in it as well. Touch works but home button does not. I looked at the cable where the home button cable connects and it has a tiny tear in it which assures me that's why the home button works, but why would the screen have lines in it similar to the replacement? I want to say it's because of the force required to remove the original off the adhesive, but unsure.

Am I overthinking it and should assume it's probably because it took force to remove an already cracked screen and it most likely did further damage to it when removing? This crap always freaks me out.....at least the customer is someone I personally know and aren't out for blood right now..

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

It could be how you're seating the display cables and if there are any bends in them. I would order a high quality screen for that guy (usually around $50-60) and remove bad parts as a source of the issue. Mobile Sentrix offers decent parts.

The one I ordered has always been good for me, but this time they really messed up. I was concerned when I saw the old screen have lines after removing, but the connector under the metal plate that attaches to the home button cable had a tiny tear in it....I can only assume that was part of the reason the lines were in the old screen and that the force required to separate the phone from the adhesive may have contributed. The one I purchased was $70 (full assembly). Just can't believe they sent me a used one that smelled like dirt and had the wrong tools!

Thanks for commenting. I'd love to buy all my stuff right here, but I'm typically dealing with customers who don't have a lot and looking for the cheapest route possible :(. Not their fault, just the way it is around here.

Cheapest route possible is not ideal, but everyone including me does it ;)

(I bought a sketchy macbook charger off amazon for 30 dollars, instead of apple's 79 dollar one. It smells like lobster and overheats, but it works.)
