After changing my display screen it lights up but does not display

put new screen in it lights up but does not show any inofmation.

Double check to make sure you have installed it properly.

If all is well then try plugging in to iTunes and seeing what a firmware reset does. But this will erase all data on the iPod.

I agree, sounds like a poor connection. Also check for corrosion on the cable and the connector. The 4th gen has some issues with that.
