My ergorapido keeps shutting off

My 3 year old Electrolux stick vac , keeps shutting off. After a few times it switches to low speed and then it stays on until the job is done. Any idea how to solve this problem? Do I have to replace the batteries ? Thanks.

I have two Electrolux ergaopido machines and they both have faulty switches,it is very annoying, how do we fix them.
