Can I use my ruined Unibody MacBook for parts on an older Mac?

Hello,

I awoke this New Year's Day to find my 6-month-old, 13-inch MacBook Unibody A1278 sitting in water. The logic board is totally shot, but my hard drive, screen, keyboard, etc. are in tact. The drive is 250GB, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if parts like the hard drive and screen from my ruined computer would be compatible with older MacBook models like the 13-inch white MacBook Intel Core 2 Duo/2.0 GHz.

I'm thinking about buying a certified pre-owned Macbook that only has an 80GB drive and marks on the screen from the keyboard. I want to know if I would be able to replace the screen and drive with the ones on my Unibody.

Thanks for any help. It would sure get this year off to a better start!

Unfortunately, the hard drive is the ONLY part that is compatible with older MacBook models.

Sorry for the bad news. Good luck!

the hard drive of course would be useable in another Mac laptop (other than the MB Air), it would be a 2.5" SATA hard drive, 9.5mm thick.
