How do I change the power port?

Asus laptop ModeK53E-RBR9 probably has a loose connection in the power port. Power cable plugged in does not charge battery, but if cable is held at an angle towards back of laptop, then it does. Can the power port be accessed, repaired or changed?

Hi @beetle1 ,

Here is a video which shows how to dis-assemble a K53E/X53E laptop. At approx. the 7:53 minute mark into the video the motherboard can be removed so access to the DC-In jack is possible.

If the jack is faulty and not just loose (and can be resoldered onto the motherboard), then here is the part number for it 12G14550103B

If you search online, using just the part number only you will results for suppliers of the part.

Here is just one supplier. It is not a recommendation to use them, it is shown to give an idea of the cost of the part. There are other suppliers that may suit you better.

Hopefully this is of some help.
