Phone crashes occasionally when exiting applications.

Hello,

I have an Iphone SE that is just over a year old (not accounting for shelf life and such) and it has begun crashing when I exit apps. While this only happens once or twice per day, it has become rather annoying. If I am writing a comment on youtube and decide I want to fact check myself first so I double tap the home button so I can google something, once or twice per day my phone will shut down and restart as soon as I have left the app. This happens when I try to get back to the home screen as well. The phone has been dropped but has always had a case and screen protector and has no visible signs of damage. I am still on IOS 9.3.3 (the version it came with). If you are wondering why I am still on this IOS, it is because updating my previous apple device ended up making it completely useless due to it's sluggishness and I want to avoid that with the new one.

P.S. I do not press the power button to turn it back on after it crashes, it restarts on its own.

My initial thought is that your phone may be suffering from the Apple Throttling but you say that your iPhone is on iOS 9.3.3.

Still, I would consider checking the health of the battery. Use a battery utility, such as coconutBattery (for Mac) or 3uTools (for Windows). It will tell you what the health of the battery is. Anything less than 70-80% of design capacity will require replacement.

Otherwise,I am concerned about the fact that the phone was dropped over time, which could cause some logic board issues. But try testing the battery first.
