Voyager A10 Cyclone Drone does not want to record or save photos to SD

My drone takes off and can fly with ease, and when the video or photo buttons are pressed the leds flash accordingly, but when the card is removed from the drone, it has the folders PHOTO and VIDEO, both of which are blank. I am using a 16gb Samsung MicroSD. A few days ago, as a test, I took three photos, a video and another three photos. The drone only saved the first three photos and nothing else since.

As most drones use SD, are you making sure the SD isn't "locked"?

Aka unable to write files to it, also have you tried to just do a small size (since might be file size then)

Yes, I have checked that, however it is a micro SD and has no lock. What should I try in a small size?

by

Try a 2 or 4 GB card, see if that works. Basically cards that compile with the SD standard, not with the SDHC or SDXC.

Hi @aidzgamez ,

What format is the SD Card in?

If not already, try formatting it in FAT16.

Don't forget to create the PHOTO and VIDEO folders again when done.

Hello @jayeff. Thank you for the help. I tried a smaller 2gb card as well, formatted in plain FAT according to the computer. Tried this morning and still nothing. I did create the folders, but should I have if the drone does make them itself?

by

Hi @aidzgamez ,

I was just ensuring that the folders were there. Other drones have the same system although some do not write the folder names in the card, they just "look" to see if they are there and if they can't find them nothing gets stored.

Since your drone can write to the SD Card at least it proves that the card reader in the drone appears to be OK.

According to the setup info that I found it states the an 8GB SD Card should be inserted. Perhaps as a last resort you could try this size.

How long have you had the drone?

If the warranty period is still valid, check the manufacturer's warranty statement and follow the instructions as to what you have to do to make a claim for a manufacturer's warranty repair, replacement or refund.

@jayeff,

Thank you again for the advice.

I saw the video, but for some reason never thought to watch it all the way through or refer back after the problems started! Will definitely try an 8gb, and if all else fails, I will just have to return or repair.

I have only had the drone for a week, so warranty should definitely still be valid
