Should I remove or wipe hard drive before recycling?

I work in a photo studio and when a Mac dies it goes to the styling room shelf graveyard. Recently I volunteered to clean out all the old electronics...YAY!

I will be sending about 10 very old Mac Pros to the recycler.

Should I wipe the hard drives with specific software or should I pull them?

And if I pull them how do I safely destroy them?

Thank you :)

I would recommend keeping the hard drives if they have a good amount of storage space on them. Never know when you will need a storage upgrade! But if you definitley need the hard drives gone, This is probally a fun way But if this at work, ask your boss.
