Possibility of replacing original HDD with SSD on Mac Mini Late 2014

Greetings,

My system is as following:

- Mac Mini Late 2014

- Processor 2.6 GHz intel Core i5

- Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

- HDD 1 TB (APPLE HDD HTS541010A9E662) (5400 rpm)

**********************

Is it possible to replace the original Apple HDD with (Samsung 850 Pro 2.5" SATA III 512GB) without needing to add any cable/connector?

SAMSUNG 850 Pro 2.5" SATA III 512 GB

What guide should I follow?

How to prepare the new SSD for a fresh system installation?

Regards

Sure you can swap out your 2.5" HDD for a 2.5" SSD. Just follow this IFIXIT guide: Mac mini Late 2014 Hard Drive Replacement

As for the Samsung drive I would just go with the EVO model Vs the PRO save your self some money! Other that the extended warranty theres really no difference. Your more likely to upgrade your system before the drive dies from age or wear outs.
