Hi,

Presumably you mean making or receiving calls with the phone still attached to the charging cradle. Is this correct?

The phone's On hook / Off hook function is provided by the Talk and End buttons on the phone not the connection to the battery charging cradle.

Haven't got your phone so suggest that you try it to find out. Though it may be awkward to hold both the phone and charger base connected whilst dialling, talking etc.

If it works this way, I think that at best, the charger will maintain the batteries at their current state of charge whilst providing power to the phone or that the battery discharge will be slowed effectively making longer duration calls possible.

Of course if it also means that whenever you use the phone in this manner it is no longer portable in the sense that you are tethered to the location by the length of the charging cradle's power lead attached to the wall outlet. It may be simpler to get a cheap corded phone (no power necessary) and plug that into the telephone wall socket when you wish to make long duration calls

If it doesn't work and you can't make or answer calls this way then there must be some sensing circuitry in the phone which detects that the battery is being charged and will prevent the phone from being used until it is removed from the charging cradle.
