Earphone jack not working right

I got my phone wet TWICE and with these repair guides have got it working again. First time I dropped it in a pool where it was submersed about 30 seconds. Needed a new battery then back in action like a champ, everything working. Second time was much less water, but probably entered headphone jack and other spots.

Second time around, I opened up the phone, disconnected the battery, let it dry. Everything works again except the earphone jack. When I attempt to listen to something I just get white noise with some crackling. (The regular speaker works just fine.)

Any ideas on what I might have jostled loose? Or should I just plan to replace the whole assembly with the lightning connector?

Answer this question I have this problem too

I have the same problem, even though I never got my phone wet.

If I bend the phone in a certain way, I can get the headphone jack to work, but it goes back to crackling when I release it.

the contol circuit for your jack may have gotten fried by the minerals. I would start by trying to replace the Jack. this is part of a Flex ribbon that is a modular replacement

This didn't fix it, alas. But it was worth a try.

No. I replaced the jack/lighting connector assembly but it did not fix it.
