Use a 5c or 5S battery temporarily for data recovery

Is it possible to use a 5c or 5S battery temporarily to recover data off a iPhone SE? I have no problem hard wiring it if needed instead of using the battery connector

I do have access to a DC power supply. All I need is +/-? Not the gas gauge or anything attached?

Options

Sure! The connectors don't match but it's still the same output voltage; just solder some small jumper wires. Double check with a voltmeter to insure you have the polarity right.

Another alternative is to use a DC power supply if you have access to one.
