my cq 40 does not recognize my hard drive, it does not come up in the BIOS, what do i do

chimeziegordian if your BIOS can not read the HDD check the connection first. It is possible that your HDD controller has failed. You most likely will need a new HDD. You can also verify if your drive has failed if you get an external case to run the HDD as an external drive.
