Radio with neon lights. Marilyn having issues.

I have a Marilyn FM/AM radio with power, input, and antenna inputs on the back . I can't get the input to play anything through the speakers, also all the knobs are iffy if they will work or not.

Also since the neon beats with the music and also has an ON/OFF switch to stay on or stay off, is there a way to replace all the guts and still keep the neon. I don't mind replacing all the internals and creating new knobs but I do want to keep the sound and the neon lights to beat together and turn on/off like it does now.

Any help on this will be awesome!
