How do I get out something that is stuck inside the headphones jack?

Hi everyone,

One on the screws the hold up the lower case must have gotten loose and it lodged itself in the headphones jack while I put my laptop in it's protective bag.

I can't get the screw to come out and I can't connect my headphones since the screw is blocking the jack.

On top of this, the screw itself seems to be shorting something inside the jack, because the system seems to be acting as though something is connected to the jack because I now have some problems with the control of the sound volume.

Ideas?

Thanks,

Uri

The only thing I can recommend is a pair of dental picks and a good magnifier to hopefully snag it. Once its loose shake it out. Banging the connector edge on a rubber pad may also loosen it. Just don't be to ruff

Be careful you don't push it in deeper.
