Snap sound from hinge

When MacBook heats up and cools down I get a snap sound from the lower middle of the sceens hinge. I can also induce the sound by running finger along black strip that has MacBook Pro printed on it. Once it does it, it doesn't seem to repeat until the temperature changes again.

Has the MacBook not been assembled correctly? And if I live with the annoyance, will it eventually break down and kill the computer?

I would bring it in to an Apple Store so they can either fix it or replace your system.

Remember you bought the system as working not having a defect. This is a defect which Apple also needs to know about as well so they can correct there building process.

I have this problem too!

I found this video as an example of the issue (I’m not the owner).

It always happen after few minutes of use. Sometimes the popping noise was so loud that I was able to feel it if was using the touchpad.

Don’t buy this computer if you plan to use it during meetings, public speaking or studying in silence. It’s really annoying.
