Battery Charging but WILL NOT TURN ON?

Hello Everyone,

Customer brought in a iPhone 6S that will not turn on. They thought they needed the screen replaced only and so I did...

When i opened the phone i noticed there was very very light liquid damage & the water mark indicator near the FPC confirmed that for us also.

None the less... I did my best to clean it up with 99% isopropyl alcohol and got it all cleaned up...

after a screen replacement (using OEM parts) the iPhone 6S showed no signs of charging.

I cleaned out the charging port and checked to see if its functioning properly...

My question is with this new ios11.1 update.... will the phone even boot if any of the parts are non functioning..?

I think you have have to address the water issue first and foremost. Ideally, you have to do more than just clean it with IPA. The shields must be removed so that you can see whether water has attached the electronics or not. You can't do that just by looking at the board with the shields on.

Try to see if the phone is recognized with just the bare board/dock/battery. If not, then you need to check the main voltage rails (VCC_MAIN, BATT_VCC)to see if they are shorted. From there, you can check the PMIC.
