How do I replace shutter button?

Hi, I actually have a D60 but I didn't see that as an option here. My Shutter Release Button fell off. I purchased a replacement button but I have no idea how to do it. I believe the top cover has to come off. Can someone offer any advice?

This is for a Canon. I have a Nikon. I'm assuming it would not be the same process to fix?
