LG 47LV5400 LED TV
I have this exact same model. Mine had a screen flash and had the same result tonight. TV was bought in 2011 or 2012 I believe. Seems a lot harder to fix than my laundry machine. Which was the last thing to break at our house. I seen a lot of videos on how to fix these but each model seems pretty different.

@delirium84 the flash could have been coming from the power board. That is the first thing you want to test. You did not tell us if the power LED is coming on or if it is flashing. You do want to go ahead and unplug your TV and remove the back. Then take a look at all the boards to see if there are any obvious signs of failure like leaking or domed looking caps. Look for burn marks on the power boards etc. Post plenty of pictures with your question so that we see what you see, Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that. You will need to get a multimeter so you can check your fuses and check for power to the board.
