Flashlight illuminates but does not flash for notification

i just had a customer come in asking why the led isnt flashing when they get a notification it was before. i checked the setting to make sure it was setup to flash with notification and it is, also when i turn on the flashlight it turns on. is the led that flashes for notifications different from the flashlight led? i had no answer i just guessed it was software issue from ios 11

You can update your device with latest beta version of IOS by downloading 3u Tools and try again. Be sure to backup all of your data and remove find my Iphone option before updating your device

Options

Make sure they do not have Do Not Disturb enabled. That will stop the flash from emitting light for notifications.
