I have already tried to restore the iPod touch but the backlight still does not work. What do you think the problem is? It did not get wet. It just quit working.

when you say backlight are you talking about that the screen doesn't get brighter? if so i would say that if it is the screen then its not digitizer. accordingly it could be a mother board issue based on that fact that the board isn't relaying enough power into the screen. or poss that batt isn't harnessing enough wattage. before you go and buy a new screen to drop in make sure all the connections are and that none of them wiggled out! but before opening it make sure ur setting are correct
