System update never connects to server

I've had my tablet for over a year and have never received a system update. And anytime I check, it never connects to the server and yes, my WiFi is working fine.

Looking at the software support page for your tablet shows that there is only two USB ADB driver for development purpose downloads available and nothing else, i.e. no firmware (or system) software downloads.

Checking on some other devices from Gigaset shows that some but not all have firmware downloads available.

It may be that currently there are no system updates for your tablet and perhaps there never will be. This situation has occurred with other brands where they have not removed or greyed out the system update setting in the tablet or phone, but have removed the programming that allows it to happen, to suit their support objectives for that product.

You may have to contact Gigaset to find out what is the true picture regarding system updates and your model, e.g. will they ever provide them in the future if necessary or not?
