Adolf Conradie, you should just use the sync cable and connect one end to your iPod and the other to a USB port of your computer. Just plug it into a USB port that comes of the mother board. On a PC it is usually the port in the back. Do not use a USB hub. That should charge your iPod. How "flat is it? The USB port on your computer may not supply enough poewr to charge your battery, or your battery may need to be replaced. Good Luck
