80gig iPod Menu Button Does Not Work

I recently picked up a used Ipod, and after a few days realized that my menu button would not work. All of the other buttons work just fine forward, backward, play/pause, select, even the hold switch work just fine. So my delema is that I can not go back to the previous screen I was on. If anyone has some advice or suggestions that could help or atleast point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for you time.

P.s. I havent opened it yet, and am not sure the touch wheel is the problem, but more or less a button or connection

found that my problem is the logic board, well i believ3e its the logic board because the surround for the menu button apears to be much darker than the others as though it has over heated or recieved some sort of damage the button clicks just fine so i doubt its a bad connection, but a new logic board would cost almost more than i paid for the ipod :(

It does sound like the click wheel needs to be replaced. that is a relative easy fix if you follow the instructions on here iPod Classic Click Wheel Replacement and the click wheel is available here http://www.ifixit.com/iPod-Parts/iPod-Cl... good luck and let us know how it is turning out.

You can purchase a new logic board from ifixit or check on ebay etc. It may cost you more than you paid for the iPod but how much more would it cost you to replace this iPod with a new one. I think that better economic choice would be to fix it. iPod Classic and select your iPod than chekc to see for the logic board.Just my 2 cents
