RAM and SSD upgrade

Hi guys,

I want to change the RAM and the HDD of my Asus system, because is very slow.

What is the maximum amount of RAM that I can install in this model?

It's an i5 6198DU processor with an standard of 4 GB of RAM. I want to chage the HDD to an SSD too, can I do it?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Its a bit of work to get to the single SO-DIMM socket on the backside of the logic board to add in either a 4 or 8 GB module. As you have only 4 GB system you would either get a total of 8 or 12 GB respectfully.

Here is a YouTube Vid which is in Indian or Pakistani (sorry): Asus X541U Notebook RAM Upgrade it will give you an idea whats involved.

In addition you can see in the vid the 2.5" HDD in the far right corner. which you can replace more easily to a SSD. But before you do anything you want to first make a good backup just to make sure your stuff is safe. I would get this: Startech 2.5" SATA to USB adapter and a good cloning app to clone the HD to the SSD before swapping it out.
