How to keep phone screen from locking?

when placing a call to a company the screen locks before I can press a number to the correct department.. By the time I unlock to see the keypad it's too late. The phone is a Samsung Duos.

Hi,

In idle mode, open the application list and select Settings > Display > Screen Timeout and increase the time to suit

Still goes to lock when dialing number and pressing send.
