My display popped out and now not working just lights up a little

Hi,

my iPhone 6 had a broken screen for a while but everything was working so I was living with it, until a few days back when I dropped it again and now the whole screen popped out. I immediately pushed it back, pressed the home button and the screen didn't show anything but it lit up a bit so it wasn't completely black. The phone is still on because I keep charging it and sometimes when press the home button there are two thin(vertical) white lines in the middle. Is there any way how can I find out if the problem is in motherboard or if it's just screen issue?

Hey Nevadi!

If the screen separated from the frame, chances are it tore the LCD cable. You'll need to replace the LCD, but you should be fine after that. No reason for it to be the motherboard unless it is liquid damaged or if somebody has already been prying around in there.

Unfortunately, there's only one way to find out.

The most likely scenario is that you have a damaged screen. I would also be concerned about the condition of the Front Camera/Sensor Flex as it may have been damaged from the impact and displacement of the screen. Ideally you should open up your device first to do a visual inspection. Follow this guide. If the camera or Home Button extension flexes are not damaged, then order a screen to see if this solves your problem.

If you don't want to buy parts to troubleshoot, then consider dropping by a local repair shop.
