New and old screen not working

I replaced the screen on an iPhone 7 and the new screen would not light up. The home button and all other features are still working. I then reinstalled the old/ cracked screen and it will not light/work anymore either. The home button and other features are still operational.

Did you disconnect the battery prior to removing and connecting the screen? You may have blown the backlight circuit on the logic board.

Do you have access to the schematic and are you comfortable probing the logic board with your multimeter? If so, you could check the filter FL3901 to see if it is damaged. Get back to me by commenting on this answer if you would like me to give you more direction.

Otherwise, look for a reputable shop that does micro-soldering repairs.

I'm pretty sure I did not disconnect the battery before removing and connecting the screen. Assuming the backlight circuit on the logic board is blown how would I go about finding a reputable shop that does micro-soldering?

Look locally for a reputable shop that does micro-soldering repairs by Googling "micro-soldering your town/region". Ideally, you want to find someone local but good workmanship trumps locality. There are many shops worldwide that do this so you shouldn't have any problems finding them. Talk to them and ask how they do their work. Focus on good practices like proper cleaning of boards once completed etc.

If you can't find one locally, then consider mail-in repair. There are several reputable micro-solderers patrolling this forum. You can check my profile as well, at the very least it can serve as a data point.
