Connect iPod 4rd gen with MacBook Pro 2015

Hello,

I have an old iPod 4rd gen which i want to reactivate, because it fully works.

The problem is that i had an old PC with firewire slot and now i have only Mac Book Pro from 2015 that has only USB and Thunderbolt slots. Also, iTunes sends a message like "Cannot connect your iPod with USB cable, please connect it over Firewire".

Is there a way to connect the aforementioned iPod with this Mac?

Will Firewire-to-USB adapter do the job?

Thanks,

Regards,

Dragan

Dragan Basta Since it is a fourth generation it definitely will require a Firewire wall adapter to finalize a restore. It will NOT restore through USB! You can get those of ebay and many other places. Once properly restored it should sync through USB ports. Sometimes installing an older version of iTunes will support your iPod. Yes, a Firewire-to-USB adapter should work but may not be necessary to do the job. I still use a 3rd gen and 4th gen iPod and have no issues syncing via USB

Actually, see if Firewire to Thunderbolt works. This has better reviews on Amazon vs the USB to Firewire adapters.
