broke the corner of the clip

broke the corner of the clip that roates 90 degrees to hold the LCD screen doing a click wheel replacement. now the screen is white. music plays when i hook it up to car. would the broken clip cause the white screen? do i need to replace the logic board or is there a way to fix just that part? thanks

@glennzes yes it would since it is the clip that exerts downward pressure and closed the contacts from the connector to the cable. You could get a good microsoldering professional to exchange the connector (difficult to find). A more economical repair would be the replacement of the logic board. I have a couple of boards like that myself and sometimes applying pressure with a good piece of silk tape can get it revived but definitely not a lasting repair.
