Repair information and guides for the iPhone 6S Plus that was released on September 25, 2015. Model A1687, A1634

Camera won't focus properly, especially close up!

I have an iphone 6s Plus, and my rear isight camera won't focus close up and distance photos seem to be low resolution. My front camera takes way better pictures in high resolution and in focus. Also some times the image shakes. Do you think replacing the camera will solve my problem?

I'm on ios 10.3.3

Replacing the camera fixes the problem. But if you buy the cheap $10 camera on alibaba those are clones. They work, but it doesn’t take great pictures like an original camera.

Unfortunately, there's only one way to find out. The 6S Plus camera has optical image stabilisation and that is probably what is at fault here. Have you dropped your phone recently?

If you want to rule out any potential software issues, do a full backup then start with a hard reset (Home & Power Buttons for 10 secs). You could also try a full DFU restore which will re-install iOS from scratch.

If those don't work, or if you choose not to try them, then order a replacement camera and follow this guide.

Replace a 12 megapixel rear-facing camera compatible with the iPhone 6s Plus. Fix focusing and sensor issues. Image
