Volume down is key not working as well as Safe mode problem

My device Samsung Galaxy A5 (16) mobile phone's Volume key down button malfunctioned (it wasn't physically broken), sometimes it would randomly decrease the volume of my phone all the way to silent unless I press the Volume up key. When I restarted the device it got stuck in Safe mode and the volume down key would not work. I sent it for repair to the customer service, but when I received the phone they told me that due to a fault in motherboard my device can't be fixed (I didn't have Warranty for a replacement). After receiving my device from customer service, when I booted my phone it didn't show the Samsung logo instead it showed "Android is starting" with a loading bar below, as well as It was out of safe mode and my data was intact. The random decrease in volume would still occur though (and after a while the volume down key stopped working). Recently my device was restarted due to a software update and it is again stuck in Safe mode and the volume down key would not similar to the first situation.

So is there any way to get my device out of Safe mode without losing any data like the mechanics from Customer support did? I don't care about the volume key as long as I can get my device out of safe mode.

Thanks

My volume keys were stuck (which I knew for quite sometime). A repair person online told me to use 70% or higher rubbing alcohol on a q-tip. I only had 50% alcohol but tried that anyway on my volume keys wiping and pressing to unstick them and it WORKED! I restarted my phone and safe mode wasn’t there anymore.

I tried the hand sanitizer, which is 70% alcohol, but for me it didn't work. I use the gel sanitizer let it sit on top and try to soak through the button while I was pressing on it over and over and over again clicking it like mad. Nothing happens we started several times nothing happened. Stays in safe mode every time it restarts. And the volume down but it still doesn't work. When this first happened it was inside a case with rubber all around the sides and back. I removed it out of the case and I'm using the phone by itself, but still only in safe mode and with the volume down button not working. Is there any place I can get this fixed that's not crazy expensive? I paid $120 for the phone, and the local phone accessory shop wants $60 (non refundable) to work on it, assuming it's not too difficult he says

I have the same issue with my volume down key. My tablet got stuck in safe mode for several days. After reading Q Brock's comment, i tried his idea. Yet, since i dont have alcohol at the moment i used acetone, wiping and pressing the volume keys up and down for several times ( maybe a hundred times) and IT WORKED. THANK YOU MR. BROCK.

Well, I had a similar situation. My volume down key wouldn’t work, as it randomly stopped working, I didn’t know why, when my tablet died ( Samsung Galaxy TABA 6 (2016) ), I woke up at four in the morning 4/5 CST it was randomly in Safe Mode, I even had to factory reset my tablet to fix it. That didn’t even fix the safe mode. Safe Mode was still on there even when you set up the device it was still there. BE CAREFUL when using the volume keys, when I sent it into Best Buy the said they couldn’t fix it, therefore it was sent to the legendary ‘Geek Squad’ and they said it was dirty by the inside but I don’t know how it got dirty, take apart the device and check the rocker ( where you press the keys down ) and clean that very carefully, that should fix your device.

I have had a similar problem of late and the only thing i had to do was disconnect the entire side key and then remove and re-insert the sim card which then prompts you to restart your phone since sim card will be detected. After phone is completely booted it will be out of safe mode then you connect the side key again. But if by any mistake you restart your phone it will go back to safe mode because of the faulty volume down key so you will have to repeat the above process again.

But how did you disconnected the key?

by

@nitronoobgamers I'm not sure exactly what @hidburginv87646 is referring to; it is possible to disconnect the side buttons, but you have to take the phone pretty far apart to do that so it's not like this is a simple five minute operation. Here's a guide showing how to remove the volume buttons; you could probably accomplish what you want to do by just putting a piece of tape over the spot where the midframe makes contact with the button's flex cable.

If volume button stuck or broken....its automatically boots in safe mode, u have to repair or fix the buttons to get rid of safe mode , there is no way to get rid off that!!! All the best
