I would start by checking to see what formats of music your phone's music apps accept. The galaxy s5 should be able to play most common file/formats of music. Where are you getting your music from?

I got the music off of windows media on my laptop. But down loaded songs from iTunes. The songs I get on iTunes automatically loads into windows media as well. My Samsung galaxy s5 worked with windows media.

If you right-click on a file and select properties it will tell you what file type that file is. The songs you purchased at the iTunes Store are in the AAC format. If you give Google a quick search for an AAC to MP3 converter you should be able to reformat the songs into something that your galaxy s5 likes better. Let me know if you need help with anything else.
