Why is there display, still?

Okay. So, I have a Lenovo g50-80, barely 6months and I just recently replaced the motherboard and display cable but still no display. Other than that laptop powers on, all the lights work and so does the fan.

What could the issue be?

What happens if you shine a bright light towards the display while it's on? Are you able to *barely* see anything? Also, what if it's a RAM issue? Or the hard drive? Could you try booting using different components?

@lixian just wondering what made you think of replacing the motherboard on a computer that is "barely 6months" old. The very first thing I'd do, is connect an external monitor to see what that shows.
