Asking for the bios password of Thinkpad T500 to unlock my computer

Hi! Please help me.

I haven't access to my computer because they ask me to put the CMOS BIOS admin password when i start my computer. Even if i try to use the function key , it is not possible to access to the bios.

Hi!

If you whish to get rid of that BIOS password you will need to do a CMOS reset.

You can do this by following this guide to get to the CMOS battery (It's the yellow bulb-shaped thingie in step 4); this means removing the keyboard. Make sure you both unplug the laptop and remove its main battery before starting.

Once you have access to that battery remove it for a few minutes (you can also press the power button a few times, don't expect anything to happen, this should just drain the capacitors), make sure you don't break the connector. Now reconnect the CMOS battery, the keyboard, and the wall charger. Try to boot up your laptop. If it still asks for the password, get back to the CMOS battery, remove it again and short out the contacts of the connector on the board (of course only after you unplug it).

@alexniculescu Is the "bios password" the supervisor-password? I tried your guide, but only the hard-drive-password was removed. The supervisor password is still set => do I have to remove the CMOS battery for a longer time (I will try it, when I have time, but an answer would be helpful)?

I removed my battery and cmos battery over the weekend , still doesnt work
