Not getting power when connected to power adapter

I was cleaning the fans on my MacBook pro 15" unibody and after that I figured out that the power adapter doesn't lit on. The machine is working on the battery somehow. But this would be only until the battery is drained... Any suggestions?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi Umar,

Did you open up your MacBook for fan cleaning or did you just use compressed air or dust cleaner?

Did you check your battery connection? Perhaps unplugging and replugging will do the deal already...

As Unibody Mac Books don't have a separate MagSafe Board anymore, you will run into a rather expensive problem if it isn't just the connector and you are out of warranty, namely a new Logic Board.

Kind regards,

Hi deSteini

Yeah I did open it up for cleaning the fans thoroughly. I disassembled the fans, cleaned them and mounted them back. I used compressed air for blowing out the dust from other parts as well.. But did not unplug or remove any other device (unless I did that accidentally)

The battery connection is ok I guess as the machine is working on battery. I still hav some battery time left so i just turned it on and it works.. But if I try to switch it on with the battery removed and ac adapter connected, it doesn't work. And the adapter doesn't charge the battery as well.. I can't figure out the issue.. Help me out..

Thanks!
