Unknown device in Windows after 30 pin connector replacement.

Hello.

My friend and I recently replaced his iPod Touch 4th Gen 30 pin connector, since his old one was shot. It would charge, but he could not transfer music over through it at all.

Now, he cannot charge it or transfer music. Windows will not recognize the device at all, not even in DFU mode. Any tips?

EDIT: Some other symptoms were seeing are weird too... the iPod does charge, it's just not saying it is charging. He still cannot transfer music, and I've tried re-installing the drivers in device manager, but windows complains that they cannot start.

Here's the connector he used to replace:

Try using another connector or just upgrade as the 4th gen ipod is really old and outdated.
