I have made sure that the belt is still on and intact but it seems as though it is not engaging kind of like maybe an automatic clutch or throttle cable but I am unsure if it is even those things . I do know that it has gas, and oil and it starts. It is a 88 Yamaha golf cart. It is my only means of transportation for now and now it is not even that. Please help

Kimberley Pruitt you did not give us the complete model number. Your cart is most certainly one that has a drive belt over a centrifugal adjusting pulley system. Check to make sure that the belt is still on. Procedure for checking it should be similar to this Yamaha Model:

Yes the drive belt is on. It turns on, and engages, but won't move

@paulbennet92612 what make, model and year is your cart? What does it do? What have you checked?
