Yellow Tinted Bottom Screen on DS Lite

Hi. I have a black Nintendo DS Lite from 2006, and ever since I got it brand new, the bottom touch screen has had a yellow tint. This is especially noticeable in games that have white backgrounds. This really bugs me, and I would like to fix it, but don't know how. Can someone please help?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

This is a known issue. You can see Nintendo's response here: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/repair/...

Here is a link to a forum discussing it: https://gbatemp.net/threads/ds-lite-is-t...

It's normal, the plastics for the screen tend to yellow with age. You could replace the protective plastic covering the screen.

It isn't yellow with age, since the OP stated it has been this way since he got it brand new. And per many forum posts and Nintendo's own admission, this is a problem out of the box - not an age issue. Additionally, Nintendo states the issue is due to "an additional layer of touch-sensitive material" (see https://www.nintendo.com/consumer/repair...) - not the protective plastic.

So could I just replace the touchscreen?
